RDAI and Mouvements Modernes gallery are pleased to announce that they will be sharing the same exhibition space, located in the heart of the Palais Royal.

As part of their collaboration, they will be revealing a selection of their respective collections in a continuous and coherent dialogue.

Founded in 2002 by Pierre Staudenmeyer, co-founder of the Néotù gallery, Mouvements Modernes gallery is now led by Sophie Mainier-Jullerot, who over the years has built profound expertise in historical design from the 1980s and 1990s, as well as contemporary creation. With the same freedom as Pierre Staudenmeyer, she creates a dialogue between the eras and modes of expression of the gallery’s artists and designers.

RDAI is an architecture, interior design and design agency. Founded in 1972 by Rena Dumas, the agency is now directed by Denis Montel and Julia Capp. Each of their creations is consistently rooted in its context, seeking the perfect balance between function, utility, and spatial sensibility, with meticulous attention paid to detail and exceptional artisanship.

Marking the beginning of an enduring dialogue between Mouvements Modernes and RDAI, their inaugural joint exhibition “Cercles” invites visitors to a sensitive reinterpretation of the two houses respective legacies, together with their vision for contemporary creation. From past cycles, new resonances emerge.

RDAI brings to light a re-edition of furniture designed by Rena Dumas in the 1980s: the Aria, Okeanis, and Robinson collections are presented in dialogue with the Lumière rug. Originally born from the first encounter between Rena Dumas and Mouvements Modernes in 2009, the rug was first showcased at the gallery’s former location on Rue de la Boétie, in Paris. These modular, nomadic pieces are revived today through a close collaboration with artisans steeped

in masterful craftsmanship.

This French-made “ensemble” celebrates exceptional savoir-faire, reflecting the core values of Rena Dumas now carried forward by Julia Capp and Denis Montel. By introducing new materials and techniques to the collections, they reaffirm their commitment to excellence, grounding their work in a pursuit of the essential, precision, and functionality.

Drawing upon its expertise in the 1980s and 90s through the archives of Galerie Néotù, Mouvements Modernes fosters a dialogue between Rena Dumas’ pieces re-edited by RDAI and those of Néotù’s designers: Garouste & Bonetti, Martin Szekely, Pucci de Rossi, Dan Friedman and others. In 1984, Pierre Staudenmeyer and Gérard Dalmon founded Néotù, establishing themselves as true visionaries in regarding the role of furniture within the artistic and intellectual landscape. They devoted as much attention to the craftsmanship and production technique as they did to the anthropological and philosophical dimensions of each piece in their collection. Punctuating these dialogues with contemporary works, Sophie Mainier-Jullerot continues to offer a liberated vision of creation, bridging the designs of yesterday and today.

It is with these same intentions that Mouvements Modernes and RDAI will set the rhythm for this exhibition showcase over the coming months, a space that will continue to honor their respective legacies while unveiling new creations and collaborations.
