Mouvements Modernes is pleased to announce Zoometry, an exhibition presented by RDAI and Creative Matters on the occasion of Paris Design Week, from September 8 to 23, 2026.
Building on a collaboration developed over several years between RDAI and Creative Matters, Zoometry explores the geometry of the living world through a collection of five exclusive rugs, bringing together architecture, computational design and traditional craftsmanship.
The microscopic structure of a butterfly wing, the delicate tension of a spider’s web and the formations of coral are translated into graphic compositions. Designed by RDAI and hand-knotted in Nepal by Creative Matters’ master artisans, each piece brings the precision of digital design into dialogue with the experience, intuition and sensitivity of the maker’s hand.
Himalayan wool and Chinese silk lend the surfaces depth, luminosity and shifting colour, allowing their appearance to evolve with movement and perspective.
The exhibition also reveals the making process through photographs and films by Nepalese photojournalist Narendra Shrestha, alongside a video triptych conceived by Gwenaël Lewis. From weaving workshops to the landscapes of Nepal, these images trace the journey of the works and the craftsmanship that brings them to life.
Mouvements Modernes complements the exhibition with a curated selection of artworks and design objects, creating a dialogue with the rugs and extending the exploration of materiality, form and nature.
With Zoometry, technology and craftsmanship become part of the same creative process, transforming the almost invisible structures of the living world into woven forms, materials and landscapes.
