Going beyond the needs of its clientele, Mouvements Modernes propose a made-to-order accompaniment in the expertise, the tracking down and purchase of design furniture :

- tracking down the unique piece (limited edition, large series, industrial object…) : Mouvements Modernes mobilise their international network of professionals and collectors.

- advice and accompaniment in selling items from a design collection : anticipatory appraisal of the pieces, resale strategy …

 

For decorators and architects, Mouvements Modernes propose a model of synergetic collaboration that goes well beyond the simple proposition of pieces, with the concern of making a good investment for their clients, to convey credibility :

- availability and disposal of pieces from the Mouvements Modernes catalogue of works

- research / tracking down pieces from 1945 to today

Mouvements Modernes conceive and implement design strategies for enterprises and institutions. Starting with a given project and in perfect correlation within defined ethical and commercial guidelines, we develop a strategy as a whole : artistic direction, definition of typologies of objects and pieces, consultation with creators (designers, architects,..), follow-up from the conception of the piece from beginning to end (selection of projects, models, prototypes,…), elaboration of communication models.

 

→ Mouvements Modernes co-produce several projects in limited editions with the Manufacture de Sèvres, among those that by Andrea Branzi (appeared in 2010)

A collection isn’t immutable and deserves being enriched constantly with new pieces. We counsel and accompany our clients in order to enrich their collection, and to give them new directions in the arts, new opportunities for development. Mouvements Modernes undertakes to back its clients in the evaluation of their patrimony, and to call into play all of our network of professionals in seeking out exceptional pieces. We work according to precise methodologies, made-to-order and flexible :

- acquisition of new pieces of added value for a given period, for a creator, for a typology - lamps, ceramics, textiles…- or for a theme - ex : contemporary American ceramics, Indian or Chinese creators, tapestry, the chair, etc.

- reselling pieces from a collection with the goal of having it evolve in its cultural value and in its market value

- confidentiality

Mouvements Modernes offer its entire clientele the opportunity of being at the heart and origin of exceptional commissions. Right alongside us, and in close collaboration with the creators that we represent, our clients follow the elaboration of a piece step by step and may decide upon specific details.

For enterprises, we also propose placing specific projects within the decoration of made-to-order working places, whether interior or exterior.

Curating exhibitions-Events

 

Mouvements Modernes conceive and organise exhibitions and events both in the public (museums, art centres) as well as the private domain (foundations, galleries…), for both long and short mandates.

Turnkey exhibitions, by theme or monographic, for which we assure the entire realisation : choice of creators, seeking out pieces of quality, scenography, edition and follow-through of the exhibition catalogue, public relation tools…

 

→ An important exhibition on contemporary ceramics ‘Fables contemporaines’, curated by Sophie Mainier-Jullerot (Mouvements Modernes Gallery), took place at the Dutko gallery from 3rd December 2010 to 29th January 201.

Mouvements Modernes extend their activity to the domain of publications and are dedicated to bringing out publications : catalogues raisonnés, monographic or thematic texts … so many reference works that contribute to help discover related current events and the history of design.

 

→ Edited by Chloé Braunstein-Kriegel, a reference work, Les années Staudenmeyer, published by Editions Norma, published In November 2009 parallel to the eponymous exhibition which took place at the Passage de Retz from 3 December 2009 to 15 January 2010
